Understanding Napa Valley Terroir – Cru University Elective
February 19, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm$100
We are thrilled to announce a new elective for Cru University: Understanding Napa Valley Terroir! Join us as we delve headfirst into what makes Napa Cabernet so special, not only in the United States, but one of the great wine terroirs in the world. Napa is dynamic growing region right now, as many producers are dialing back extreme ripeness levels and massive amounts of new oak aging, crafting wines that are more expressive of terroir (micro-climate, soil, vine and vintage….). We’ll touch on Napa’s history as well – to give you a better understanding what factors have led to Napa’s preeminent position as the most important American wine growing region! We’ll taste examples from multiple hillside and valley floor regions from cooler-climate upstart Coombsville, classic higher elevation terroirs like Atlas Peak and Spring Mountain to proper valley-floor examples from Rutherford and Oakville. The class is very limited, so act quickly if you are interested – this one will go fast!
