Cru U: What’s Your Wine Style?

February 5, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Cru U:  What’s Your Wine Style?

A four-week course on learning Wine Styles and what you like!

Have you ever thought about learning wine by how it tastes rather than where it comes from?  We are laying out the world of wine by Wine Style and teaching you how to drink what you like and more of it!

Now that there are so many more wine grapes at our fingertips than there were ten years ago, learning wine by progressive style is a very useful and practical way to go.

In the class, you will learn 12 progressive Wine Styles laid out for you by Cru owner and Certified Sommelier, Jen Bingham.  You will dig deeper as you taste wines in each category and learn the common descriptors of grapes that you prefer. You will learn characteristics and lingo to communicate your likes in each Wine Style, and you will discover new and unique grapes to try within each style that you enjoy.

Jen will lay out the progressive Wine Styles, and you will taste 3-5 different wines of each style.  This class is a series of four classes over four weeks, so we will cover 3 Wine Styles per class.  At the end of the course, you will know which styles you prefer, you will be armed with new grapes in each style to try, and you will have the wine terminology to describe what you like when you go to a wine shop so you can continue discovering and drinking well in life.

This class is good for beginners and experts alike.  Beginners will learn wine more from the perspective of how it tastes instead of being intimidated by intricate details of memorizing soils and regions.  Those that know more about regions and grapes will also benefit because they will be introduced to more unique grapes that have become more readily available.  You will also learn to relate seemingly unrelated wine regions together based on their flavor profiles instead of origins, and you will be opened to a whole new world of wines to enjoy!

The class is every Tuesday in February – Feb 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th from 6-8pm at the Show & Tell space at Armature Works.  IT is ALL FOUR TUESDAYS  – below when you sign up you will just see the first Tuesday, but it is all four.

Armature Works is located at 1910 N. Ola Ave.

All ticket sales are final.
